But, with good maintenance and proper rust protection, you can delay this for up to thirteen years! By prohibiting moisture from getting inside the nooks and crannies of your car, better rust control can be practiced.

If you’re new to proofing and this is the first time you hear about this brand, then let these few facts calm you down and win you over. Plus, their lifetime warranty gives your car protection for a very long time since it’s renewable.

As long as you continue to use Crosscheck on your car’s bodywork annually, you’ll be sure to get maximum protection against rust and corrosion. From trucks and trailers to more specialized modes of transportation like a commercial vehicle (i.e., ambulance), Crosscheck can keep them all safe through its Two Product Process application.

Crosscheck has five existing spray can products, each with a specific job for overall anti- rust defense: The Rust Converter: changes rusty areas to make it clean and shiny again.

It has a quick drying time of 30 minutes tops and will leave virtually no mess. The Rust Inhibitor: lubricates the metal so that it doesn’t crack or peel, and will prevent it from seizing.

It removes rust that has already formed and restores the appearance of your metal, making it look brand-new. The Crosscheck Freeze: is an excellent product combo if you want to make your life easier.

It can also help you remove seized nuts and bolts, making the process easier and faster for you. The Coat and Protect: is a fantastic undercoating product that is non-drying and can provide heavy-duty lubrication to your car’s under body.

Make sure to check them all out on their website to understand how each one helps protects your ride and allows it to give you the performance you deserve. The primary role of the Coat and Protect is to create a fantastic defense barrier for all the exposed parts of your car’s undercarriage.

The thick formula of this product gives your under body excellent wash and wear resistance properties that will keep you less worried about the belly of your car for years to come. If you want to be entirely sure, the best way to know the cost of any Crosscheck service is to ask for a quote designed specifically for your vehicle.

The business address in the United States: 4 Delta Drive Westbrook, ME 04092 Tel: (207) 712-0209 I wanted to get my new vehicle rustproofed, and decided to use Crosscheck after looking at their website, and YouTube videos.

He said we'll take all the plastic panels off under the vehicle, then put them back on when we're finished. He said we spray the complete underside of the vehicle, under the hood, engine compartment, inside the front fenders, doors, and wheel wells.

We remove the taillights, so we can spray all the metal inside the rear body panels. I removed the taillights the next day to install LED bulbs, and the metal inside the rear body panels was dry.

I removed the rear driver side interior panel, so I could plug-in the wiring harness for the back-up sensors. The inner metal over the rear wheel opening was dry, and this is where a lot of vehicles rust.

RustCheck's patented formula and two-step application process ensures complete protection throughout your entire vehicle all year. It is a light liquid product that is applied inside body sections as a pressurized spray.

Back in 1970, a Canadian pilot aimed to combat the corrosion of dissimilar metals and electronic components in light aircraft. The hypothesis was that a precise formula of various chemicals was needed to displace moisture, penetrate contaminants, absorb into seams and crevices, and bond to metal.

Conducting two years of further research led to the creation of Crosscheck ’s patented formula, which was created and refined for the automotive industry. In the fall of 1973, this unique chemically formulated, environmentally responsible, low VOC (volatile organic compounds) rust protection system was introduced through the first Crosscheck Center in Hep worth, Ontario, Canada.

Early research affirms that the application of sealants, tars, and waxes was clearly the wrong approach to controlling corrosive oxidation and metallic rust out. The evolution of Crosscheck was pioneered through hard work and strategic research in order to formulate the best product on the market to meet customers’ needs.

Leo, Raymond and Michael based the foundation of their business on honesty, reliability, hard work and, of course, the original sad radiators that still hang on the building at the new location on Maine Avenue. Continuing the automotive tradition, the fourth generation Cornier is striving to expand the Crosscheck name and is hopeful to open more locations throughout the Northeast.

Rusting is a chemical process where water and oxygen cause iron to oxidize. Rusting happens much faster in places where road salt is applied in winter such as Nova Scotia.

It prevents moisture and salt from corroding the vehicle body and other metal components. The way rust usually begins is through the chips and nicks you receive from the pebbles and stones that pepper your car through daily driving.

Like I said, most late model vehicles already have forms of protection that don't require additional protections, to the point of offering substantial outer body rust -thru warranties that exceed the powertrain warranty. I encourage you to check with your local dealer or the manufacture's website.

I always did Rust Check and I visit a local small town shop I know well, and they've always been “generous” putting it on. Not sure about the BMW, it has plastic all over the whole floor of the car, probably costs and arm and a leg for them to take all that off to do it.

Car has been rust Checked the last 2 years, I chose Rust Check because I deal with Bill Gray a lot, and he's near my work. However, my van has been Known'd a few times before (the stickers are on the windows) and it has no rust and is 10 years old, so apparently that works pretty well too.

Has anyone used the cathodic protection systems that CT sells(I assume that's what they are anyway) As an associated benefit, it will make the car easier to work on.

Known is also recommended by the APA (Automobile Protection Association). Rust Check destroys rubber bushings, mounts and weatherstripping the same way that Automatic Transmission Fluid will, Known does not....leading me to believe that Rust Check is ATF based.

You could save the hardware by asking the guy working on your car to spray the nuts and bolts etc with fluid film or any other quality lubricant every time it's in the air.

American cars, Jap cars, etc I have no idea if its beneficial, but the late model German stuff doesn't rot out unless you let a bad paint chip go, or park it literally right in the ocean. Uh, not an hour ago, an MK4 Jetty left here and it was all rusted to fuck around the rear 1/4 panels, rockers, and trunk lid.

Yes, and transmission fluid, and Rust Check taste better. Uh, not an hour ago, an MK4 Jetty left here and it was all rusted to fuck around the rear 1/4 panels, rockers, and trunk lid.

Yes, and transmission fluid, and Rust Check taste better. As it sits now it is 4 years old and I have seen brand-new gm's with stickers in the window with more chassis rust than this has.

If you took a couple 05's say, one crowned and the other not, everything else relatively the same, they would not look any different underneath or in the rockers and door jams etc. I think that more or less sums it up, it's a great selling feature for an older car too.

I compare my 10-year-old van I drive that has been Known'd, to the 10-year-old parts van I got which is identical, built the exact same day (seriously). The van I drive has no rust, all lines are like new under the undercoating, even the rocker sills are solid.

The brake and fuel lines are leaking, the sills are in existent, transmission, and power steering lines are leaking, and the floor and rear axle are rotted with pinholes. It does work, but these days it seems people just don't keep cars as long as they used to.

If you wash it and take the time to hit the known problem areas, the dirt and grime can't build up. If you asked me to hit all the fasteners with some penetrating fluid or something, I gladly will.

I hear every day about the Golfs and the rotting rear hatch and floor syndrome. Another benefit of Known isn't just having the product applied to the undercarriage, but it's sprayed with pressure inside the doors, hood, trunk, rocker panels, engine bay, etc.

You won't get that with the “permanent” undercoating they offer at delivery from car dealerships. Asphalt/rubber undercoating is terrible for cars, and actually increases the likelihood of rust over time.

I drilled my doors, rockers and hatch a couple of years ago and soaked the inside of every panel with AD2000. I forgot to do it last year, and there is STILL stuff running out the drains on the doors and hatch.

Yeah, it can drip for a while, but it's worth it if you plan on keeping the car for a long time. I guess some people are really against them (Known) drilling holes in the door jams to inject the product under pressure inside the rocker panels, but the holes are quite small and are sealed up after with rubber grommets.

Rust Coat was applied inside the doors and shit too. Another benefit of Known isn't just having the product applied to the undercarriage, but it's sprayed with pressure inside the doors, hood, trunk, rocker panels, engine bay, etc.

Rustproofing will be wax or oil-based and will displace moisture, preventing rusting. Go to the known dealer on Robin and look at their comparison with rust check and two others...

Fluid film makes a great undercoat, Mighty Auto always used that. Fluid film makes a great undercoat, Mighty Auto always used that.

The ones you see with corrosion there, are usually rock chipped to fuck and have spent most of their lives driving down dirt roads and/or never being washed. She doesn't wash it weekly, but I'd say no less than the typical jetty owner.
