With Patti and Ann Getty at the helm, everything spelled splendor, from a gardenia-laden church to a mansion with museum-quality paintings and furniture adorned with enormous sprays of salmon-colored tulips and garlands of red roses, lemon leaves and pale hydrangeas. An outdoor garden with marble gazebo was turned into an exotic tent made from yards of aqua-colored velvet with a gold leaf pattern selected by Ann.
Guests drank Pottery Champagne and ate lobster, beef, duck and chanterelles cooked by the Getty's' chef, who started preparations six days beforehand; the cake came from Torino Baking in Berkeley. The scene: like the most crowded college frat party ever, but everyone in cocktail wear, not shorts and flip-flops, and sipping wine, not beer. It was a hot time at SAK's after members of Contemporary Extension (young modern arts supporters) turned the downstairs shoe salon into a dripping disco pit at their “Glow” shopping/holiday party last week.
Perhaps we should begin in 2001, at what the San Francisco Chronicle termed “the social event of the year.” The bride was a San Francisco prosecutor who had famously modeled through law school, the groom was a rising star county supervisor and the celebration began in a gardenia-filled Catholic Church and continued at Ann and Gordon Getty’s Pacific Heights manse. According to The Washington Post, only three days after Newsom was sworn in as mayor, Guilfoyle flew to New York City to start a new job as a host on a show for Court TV. Guilfoyle and Gavin Newsom announced their divorce in a statement issued by the San Francisco City Hall mayor's office: “Unfortunately, the demands of our respective careers have made it too difficult for us to continue as a married couple.
A friend of the couple said Newsom and Guilfoyle's bi-coastal arrangement took its toll on the relationship: “It's no secret that they have been leading separate lives,” the source said. Since their split, both parties have moved on to other relationships, and for Guilfoyle, her new partner is bringing her into the presidential spotlight.
KimberlyGuilfoyle got to know the Trump family while working in New York, especially when she joined Fox News in 2006. She wrote, directed and produced three documentaries: Miss Representation, The Mask You Live In, and The Great American Lie.
The Republican power couple has devoted much of its time to campaigning and working on behalf of Trump Jr.'s father, President Donald Trump (via Elle), but Guilfoyle and Don Jr. have enjoyed some time to themselves. According to their Instagram feeds, they stay very active by taking adventurous day trips together.
“Enjoying the outdoors with @donaldjtrumpjr,” Guilfoyle captioned a photo from a fishing trip in May 2019. “The stakes have never been higher in a presidential election,” she said in a statement announcing her role with the committee, per The Hill.
“The President's record of success is drawing unprecedented support from across the country and these crucial financial resources will ensure he's in a strong position to win in November.” Kimberly has been a powerful and effective leader and surrogate for President Trump and her expanded role will only make the re-election campaign stronger,” campaign manager Brad Par scale told The Hill.

Newsom, a Democrat who was married to the former Fox News host from 2001 to 2006, was taking questions from reporters Wednesday when he was asked, “I’m curious if you are watching the RNC, and if you had a response to your ex-wife who said in prime time … that California is ‘a land of discarded heroin needles in parks, riots in streets and blackouts in homes. “Let me just extend appreciation for your effort to get my response and I respectfully defer to the next question,” Newsom said before moving to another reporter.
The former couple, dubbed “the New Kennedy's” in a 2004 Harper’s Bazaar spread, remained friendly after their split despite their political differences. Guilfoyle did not mention Newsom by name during her 2020 RNC remarks Monday night, but she pulled no punches when discussing her home state. It is a place of immense wealth, immeasurable innovation, and immaculate environment, and the Democrats turned it into a land of discarded heroin needles in parks, riots in streets, and blackouts in homes.
In the early aughts, Newsom was married to former Fox News personality KimberlyGuilfoyle (via SF Gate). Newsom was a San Francisco entrepreneur who had made his fortune with wineries, hotels, and other business ventures before becoming a public servant.
Newsom and Guilfoyle married in a lavish ceremony in 2001, with a 500-person reception held at Ann and Gordon Getty's home. At the same time, Guilfoyle's star was on the rise, as she drew notice for her work on the murder trial over the death of Diane Whipple.
Despite the distance, the couple was featured in several magazine profiles, including a Harper's Bazaar piece which compared them to the Kennedy's' Camelot years. In 2005, the couple announced they would be filing for divorce, blaming the split on the bi coastal distance.
Additionally, Guilfoyle's friends claimed that, despite her high profile wedding, she had “never signed on” to be the wife of a mayor. In 2006, Guilfoyle moved from Court TV to Fox News, where she began hosting their weekend show, The Lineup.
In 2011, she moved on to become one of the hosts of The Five, as well as occasionally appearing on the programs The O'Reilly Factor, Hannity, and Fox and Friends.
