The only aim in Rust is to survive. To do this you will need to overcome struggles such as hunger, thirst and cold. Create alliances with other players and form a town.

The update is expected at the normal time (2pm EST / 7pm GMT) and will feature a full wipe along with some other goodies. This is due to the addition of tech trees in December, but is also great timing given the recent influx of players (see below).
This wipe means everyone on every server will have a completely fresh start after the update hits later today. It’s awesome to see the game continue to thrive, and we offer a warm welcome to any newcomers.
If you fall into this category, make sure to check out our guides section if you need any help with getting started. Given the forced blueprint wipe today is due to the new progression system added last month, I thought it makes sense to give a quick recap on how tech tree’s work along with the most recent complete trees.
If you’ve ever played a game with tech tree’s before, you’re not going to be surprised to hear this is a linear progression system allowing for the unlocking of various items down the chain. That said, you cannot continue down a tech tree line unless every previous item has already been unlocked.
Earlier this week, Face punch announced the update will be accompanied by a new round of Twitch drops. If you’re not familiar, this means you’ll receive exclusive in-game items by watching people stream Rust on Twitch (for a certain duration).
Edit: Information on the specific Twitch drops for this week have been released here. Edit: The Sofa DN Hobo Barrel are two of the general Twitch drops going live today.
Edit: This can be obtained by watching any Rust streamer this week for 2 hours. Edit: This can be obtained by watching any Rust streamer this week for 8 hours.
The team has added a small but useful quality of life shift around bag placement. If on its own cool down, sleeping bag placement guides will continue to be blue.
If they are close to another spawn point, however, the placement guides appear orange to signify the shared cool down. The chance of weather events has now been reduced, forecasting much more clear days than previously experienced.
Previously, if you needed to sync bans across multiple servers, you’d have to manually do it, custom code something, or use a 3rd party. Another improvement in the realm of server hosting, support for maintaining multiple previous map save files has been added.

Below are two tables describing what each command does, followed by an example of how you make a kit. CommandDescription /Kirby typing /kit, the chateaux will display the full list of kits available to you./kit “Misname”To select a kit, TPE /kit followed by the Misname.
I've decided I'll be giving my users 10 large Christmas presents. So I cleared my inventory and then typed in inventory.give Xmas.present.large 10 and that gave me 10 Large Christmas presents.
After I hit enter I'm returned with a verification that the changes were made. I do so to test it, now I can press on my keyboard to check my inventory for changes.
Applying a kit will remove all items in your inventory. Make sure you give them a notice to secure their items in a container before using a kit.
Now that you understand how to offer a kit to your users, here we'll show you a couple more ways you can configure this plugin to be a little more unique to your server. As for this plugin, you can use some basic oxide group commands within your F1 console as seen below.
Auto kits are useful, if you die, you can start again with a default kit, similar to how when you spawn in a new vanilla server, you spawn with a rock and a torch. The easy way gives one auto kit to all members on spawn or respawn.
/kit add “autokit”/kit athletes 2 hide true/kit times /kit athletes 2 hide true makes the “autokit” kit only manually useable by those with athletes 2 (server administrators) and hides it from the /kits command.
Following this method, you can create an autokit which is given to all users. But say for example, you wanted to change your autokits depending on what permission status your users are.
To give kits to a specific user group, it will require some .Jason editing. Start by filling your inventory with the items you want in the Normal Auto Kit.
/kit add Normal/kit athletes 2 hide true... Any other kit settings .../kit items. /kit add VIP /kit permission Spawn/kit hide true/kit athletes 2... Any other kit settings .../kit items.
Now's the time to create all the custom kits you want to make. Then navigate to oxide/config/Kits.Jason and edit Kits.Jason by clicking on the pencil next to the file.
The way oxide will read this file, it will dispense the autokits in numerical order. So, in this scenario, we would change the Custom Authority section to look like this.
When you create an NPC kit, you may choose to give it the option only true which makes the kit only accessible through NPCs. Once you fill out this information hit save in the upper left-hand corner of your text editor.
Now your NPC will have a GUI where they can apply Kits to users. But you may replace the default /kit chat command by a GUI.
This way instead of the kit selection being text-based, it will have its own GUI, and the user will just have to click. If you're an admin for a Rust Server and you're looking to understand how the Kits Plugin works, this guide is for you.
By the time you finish this guide you should know all you need to know about the Kits Plugin from mod.org. Read our guide on how to install Rust Oxide.
Now that you've downloaded Kits, follow our How to install Mod Oxide plugins guide. You must install Kits in the correct directory to run.
Once you've installed Kits, manually reset your server to generate plugin configuration files. Optional Step: Download and install Give from Mod.org.
