AsoftDolphin 15 hours ago Just wondering, how many minutes does night last? Rust operates on a standard Day/ Night cycle.

Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts Hi there I've been wondering how long does the day in Rust last.

Materials are the key to surviving in Rust to stay alive and craft better gear and shelter. The night lasts a long time in Rust, and if you don’t have supplies or a light source, you may not make it to the sunrise alive.

If there are Oxide mods installed, such as SkipNightVote, players will be able to engage in some available Time command and variable functionality. Once this command is issued, it will immediately change the game world’s setting.

Note that this RUST admin command does work from Icon platforms and doesn’t require being logged into the game server. Once this command is issued, it will immediately change the game world’s setting.

Beyond 65 degrees north or south latitude, the sun does not rise or set daily, and the length of sunrise/sunset increases significantly. There, the sun starts rising 20 Sep 2015 at 2352, bobbles up and down a bit (but never quite sets), and finally finishes rising 43 hours and 21 minutes later, at 22 Sep 2015 at 1913, but see caveat at the end of this answer.

Note that the sun rises at 2352 on September 20th, and doesn't set for the rest of the year, verifying the sunrise start time. In the table above, this occurs between 1914 and 1915, but my program uses slightly more accurate data for the sun's angular diameter, and the sun actually finishes rising between 1913 and 1914 (and closer to 1913).

You can then fly almost halfway across the world to latitude 89 degrees 51 minutes and longitude -19 degrees to see the one-minute-shorter the longest sunset, which starts at 23 Sep 2015 at 2128 and ends at 25 Sep 2015 at 1648, a length of 43 hours and 20 minutes. That's reasonable for most locations, but may be unreasonable close the pole, where the longest sunrises and sunsets occur.

In particular, refraction can change rapidly at these latitudes, allowing for potentially much longer sunrises and sunsets. Naval jelly does this by converting rust to a soluble iron compound that you can rinse off with water.

Other stronger acids corrode the metal and end up creating more rust. The phosphoric acid structure is such that it can react with iron (III) oxide (rust) to convert it to a water-soluble compound.

It also contains xanthan gum, which is the component that gives it its jelly like consistency and prevents it from dripping off the surface you're treating. If you don't use enough, though, you won't dissolve all the existing rust, and it will spread even if you paint the surface when you're done.

The manufacturer recommends using naval jelly at temperatures between 50 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit (10 °C to 30 °C). Apply naval jelly liberally to the rusted metal with a brush, working it into crevices and pits carefully.

The problem is that your nice shiny stainless steel refrigerator can easily be damaged if you use harsh cleaners or abrasives. Abrasive materials can scratch the surface of your stainless steel appliance.

Stains are easily dealt with but rust, well, that will make you crazy when it appears on the front of your beautiful shiny fridge. The stainless steel of your fridge is made with several materials but the one that makes it rust -resistant is a layer of chromium oxide, the same material that renders any stainless steel “stainless.” Certain harsh cleaners can damage this layer, causing the spots of rust.

You must avoid any cleaners that contain chlorine, fluorine, bromine, iodine, ammonia, or alcohol. Perhaps there are tiny stainless-steel loving elves that will come in the night and fix up your chromium layer.

Regular Cleaning The best way to do regular everyday cleaning of your stainless steel appliance, whether fridge, dishwasher, or stove, is with a mild soap and water solution. I simply mix some dishwashing liquid with water in a little plastic container or bucket.

You can then buff the surface dry with another clean soft cloth or paper towel. If you notice streaks appearing as you dry your fridge, just keep buffing, and they will disappear.

On the floor against the front of the fridge to catch any baking soda that falls off the surface. You won’t need large amounts so there is no point in wasting baking soda.

As the steel has a brushed finish, most guides say you should rub in the direction of the grain so as not to create offset scratches. If you are having trouble removing the spots, just apply a bit more compound and keep rubbing.

I suggested Bar Keepers Friend in my guide on removing white deposits from stainless steel pots. You can easily use it to remove rust spots from your stainless steel fridge.

Another advantage of Barkeepers Friend is that it can be used for all sorts of other cleaning problems, including your pots and even your shower. It not only cleans stainless steel but is also safe for brass, copper, aluminum, ceramic, porcelain, glass, and Dorian.

For your fridge, I’d recommend using the premixed liquid version of Barkeeper’s Friend, linked above. Just apply some cleaner and rub it in with a soft cloth, sponge, or paper towel.

It’s much easier to use soap and water and regular maintenance or barkeeper’s Friend. For putting a factory sheen back on your stainless steel appliance, it’s great.

For protection, it helps, but once stains, fingerprints, and water streaks do appear (and they will), it’s tougher to clean that it would have been had you skipped the polish.
