How Do I Trust In Jesus

We cannot receive eternal life and live forever in the presence of God until we’ve trusted in Jesus as Savior and accepted His forgiveness (Ephesians 1:7).After salvation, trusting in Jesus means committing or dedicating ourselves entirely to Him. To trust in Jesus means to believe everything He said and accept His Word as true: “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, ‘If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free’” (John 8:31–32, ESV).

The more we know and abide in the words of Jesus, the more we will obey Him, and the more our confidence in Him will grow as we experience freedom in Christ. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Rest, another way of expressing trust, is a state of leaning on Jesus for strength and learning from Him. That is why Scripture says, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6–7). The passage does not say He’ll always give us what we’re asking for, but it does promise peace to guard our hearts and minds.

Jesus wants us to live by faith in Him (2 Corinthians 5:7; Galatians 2:20), and so the Christian life becomes a testing and training ground in trust : “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. We may know that Jesus loves us and promises always to be with us (Matthew 28:20), but we can’t see Him, and, during times of trouble, doubt and fear can creep in and make it difficult to apply that knowledge.

The apostle Paul captured what it means for a believer to trust in Jesus : “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. As we learn to trust in Jesus more, we identify more with the psalmist’s description of a believer at rest in the arms of God: “I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content” (Psalm 131:2).

Perhaps you’ve been told that as a Christian you must learn to trust in the Lord with all your heart.” But this famous passage from Proverbs 3 contains more than just a general statement about living. Instead, you’ll find the steps you need each day to truly walk with God.

Follow these 7 daily steps to make sure you’re leaning on the Lord: We live in a world where trust must be earned and seems to be in short supply.

We show that we’re leaving our troubles and burdens and dreams in His capable hands. “Evening, morning, and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.

“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9–10) Handing over the first part of our paycheck takes a huge amount of faith, after all.

Even in the midst of turmoil, God sticks with us and uses those challenges to shape us. No longer do we see our setbacks as failures; we see them as moments when God, as our loving Father, works on us.

Trusting God takes a whole-hearted commitment from dawn till dusk. This article is part of our larger resource library of popular Bible verse phrases and quotes.

We want to provide easy to read articles that answer your questions about the meaning, origin and history of specific verses within Scripture context. It is our hope that these will help you better understand the meaning and purpose of God's Word in relation to your life today.

As I sang this hymn, I asked myself this question, do you trust this Jesus, and take Him at His Word?”, “Has He come through for you?” She came to US and dedicated her life to serve the Lord at a noticeably young age.

Her husband died of drowning while trying to rescue a young boy in the river right in front of her eyes. As a young widow left to provide for herself and her 4-year-old daughter, she struggled and faced utter poverty.

She penned this beautiful hymn in 1882, “It’s so sweet to trust in Jesus ”. The Lord never left her side, even when she moved to Africa along with her daughter as a missionary.

Trust means resting upon God’s promises as we wait for our prayers to be answered. When we trust Jesus we allow Him to have the final say in our lives, knowing fully well that He will never abandon us.

I pray these 21 verses will uplift, strengthen, and help you during the difficult season to withstand against the battle of mistrust: 1. Period of emptiness/barrenness : For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.

The righteous will be remembered forever, He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the LORD. Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.

You know what would make you happy and you pray for it with all your might, asking God to help you get it. But if it doesn't come to pass, you feel frustrated, disappointed, even bitter.

Sometimes you do get what you want, only to discover that it doesn't make you happy after all, just disillusioned. Many Christians repeat this cycle their entire life, wondering what they're doing wrong.

A spiritual secret exists that can free you from this cycle: trusting God. I've read that dozens of times in the Bible and heard lots of sermons on it.

The secret lies in putting this truth into practice, by making it such a dominant theme in your life that you view every event, every sorrow, every prayer with the unshakable conviction that God is totally, spotlessly trustworthy. We'll trust in our own abilities, in our boss's judgment of us, in our money, our doctor, even in an airline pilot.

The new car, relationship, promotion or whatever didn't bring you the happiness you expected, so you keep searching, thinking “Maybe next time.” When you finally reach the place where your head agrees with your heart, you're still hesitant.

Trusting in God can require that you abandon everything you've ever believed about what brings happiness and fulfillment. It requires that you accept the truth that God knows what's best for you.

As someone who has gone through cancer, the deaths of loved ones, broken relationships, and job layoffs, I can tell you that trusting in the Lord is a lifelong challenge. The good news is that the more often you see God's loving hand working in your life, the easier this trusting becomes.

When you trust in the Lord, you'll feel as if the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders. God will make something beautiful of your life, but he needs your trust in him to do it.
