As the country comes to terms with the violent siege of the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters that left five dead, the crisis that appears to be among the final acts of his presidency is deepening like few others in the nation’s history. The final days of Trump ’s presidency are spinning toward a chaotic end as he holes up at the White House, abandoned by many aides, top Republicans and Cabinet members.

After refusing to concede defeat in the November election, he has now promised a smooth transfer of power when Democratic President-elect Joe Biden is sworn in on Jan. 20. In Congress, where many have watched and reeled as the president spent four years breaking norms and testing the nation’s guardrails of democracy, Democrats are unwilling to take further chances.

The mayhem that erupted Wednesday at the Capitol stunned the world and threatened the traditional peaceful transfer of power. Pelosi said she had spoken to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Miller “to discuss available precautions for preventing an unstable president from initiating military hostilities or accessing the launch codes” for nuclear war.

If Trump were to be impeached by the House and convicted by the Senate, he might also be prevented from running again for the presidency in 2024 or ever holding public office again. Senators from a bipartisan group convened their own call to consider options for congressional action, according to an aide granted anonymity to reveal the private discussions.

Trump spokesman Judd Deere said, “A politically motivated impeachment against a President with 12 days remaining in his term will only serve to further divide our great country.” Trump was tweeting again Friday, his Twitter account reinstated after a brief ban, and he reverted to an aggressive statement that his supporters must not be “disrespected” after he had sent out a calmer Thursday video decrying the violence.

They have called on Vice President Mike Pence and the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to force Trump from office. Trump had encouraged loyalists at a rally Wednesday at the White House to march on the Capitol where Congress was certifying the Electoral College tally of Biden’s election.

10 Reasons Pennsylvania ’s Election Results May Be ‘Irredeemably Compromised’Warnings of Biden Being Viewed as ‘Illegitimate’ by Those Who Never Accepted Donald Trump ’s Victory Georgia Will ‘Audit, Recount, and Re canvass’ Presidential Verona McDaniel Presents 131 Affidavits, 2,800 Incident Reports of Alleged Voter Fraud in MI: Media Still Demands ‘Evidence’ Washington, Dec 21 : Undeterred by dismissals and admonitions from judges, President DonaldTrump's campaign continued with its unprecedented efforts to overturn the results of the November 3 election Sunday, saying it had filed a new petition with the Supreme Court.

While the prospect of the highest court in the land throwing out the results of a democratic election based on unfounded charges of voter fraud is extraordinary unlikely, it wouldn't change the outcome. President-elect Joe Biden would still be the winner even without Pennsylvania because of his wide margin of victory in the Electoral College.

“The petition seeks all appropriate remedies, including vacating the appointment of electors committed to Joseph Biden and allowing the Pennsylvania General Assembly to select their replacements,” Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani said in a statement. Trump's campaign and his allies have now filed roughly 50 lawsuits alleging widespread voting fraud.

Roughly 10,000 mail-in ballots that arrived after polls closed but before a state court-ordered deadline remain in limbo, awaiting the highest court's decision on whether they should be counted. The Trump campaign's filing Sunday appears to target three decisions of Pennsylvania's Democratic-majority state Supreme Court.

In November, the state's highest court upheld a Philadelphia judge's ruling that state law only required election officials to allow partisan observers to be able to see mail-in ballots being processed, not stand close enough to election workers to see the writing on individual envelopes. Courts in the US states Pennsylvania and Michigan on Friday denied more attempts by Republicans and supporters of US Donald Trump to change the result of this month's elections.

In his bid for a second term, Trump lost to former-Vice President Joe Biden in the November 3 poll but has repeatedly and baseless alleged voter fraud. The court rulings come as some media made final projections for the presidential election.

A federal appeals court in Pennsylvania has blocked an effort led by a Republican congressional candidate to throw out 9,300 mail-in votes that arrived after election day but within the period allowed by state law. US election: World leaders who have not congratulated Joe Biden Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peso told reporters that the Kremlin will refrain from commenting on Biden's victory until legal challenges to the election are resolved and the result is official.

“We respect the choice of the American people,” China's foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wen bin said. US election: World leaders who have not congratulated Joe Biden The far-right anti-immigration Slovenian Democratic Party leader, who prematurely hailed Trump as the winner of the election long before the vote counts were near completion, is yet to congratulate Biden.

The court sought to uphold “a proposition indisputable in our democratic process: that the lawfully cast vote of every citizen must count,” Smith said. The Trump campaign and its Republican surrogates have filed 15 legal challenges in Pennsylvania contesting the result.

An effort by Trump supporters in Michigan to change the state's election result also fell short. A state court denied their request to block the certification of votes and appoint an independent auditor in Detroit.

“It would be an unprecedented exercise of judicial activism for this Court to stop the certification process of the Wayne County Board of Canvassers,” Kenny wrote in his ruling. The fateful day on January 6, 2021, led to five shocking deaths after chaos flared up as pro- Trump rioters breached the Capitol building and stormed into the Senate chamber.

The Republican state lawmaker is defending President Donald Trump, saying it's wrong to blame the Capitol riot on him.

Just today, Joe Biden referred to Pennsylvania voters as “chumps,” demonstrating his complete disdain for the hard-working men and women of America. This comes on the heels of Thursday's debate, in which Biden made clear his plans to destroy the Pennsylvania energy industry simply to appease his elite, radical environmentalist base.

In a press call with former Representative Lou Barrett (PA-11) and Sean Steffen of Boilermakers Local 154, the Trump Campaign exposed Joe Biden for his offensive disregard for the interests of blue-collar Americans. “Joe Biden cares far more about the sensitivities of his coastal elite base than he does about the hard-working men and women of America.
