We bought a new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee in May 2013 installed Weathertechfloormats the first week, Jeep had an odor that irritated our sinuses we took it to the dealer they could not figure out what the odor was so the only way to fix it was to get rid of the Jeep, so we traded it in on a new 2015 Yukon this time I ordered Weathertechfloormats online, UPS delivered them to my door the mats came rolled up, so I brought them into the house and laid them out to warm and lay flat before I installed-them-in-the-new-Yukon-within-30-minutes my house smelled I like my Jeep we realized the odor came from the Weathertechfloormats, we wrote Weather tech they did not respond, this Jeep was 2 years old and had 12,000 miles when traded we had to take the loss to get rid of the odor we just could not take it anymore and Weather tech could not care less, this Jeep replaced our 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee we had for 14 years, and we intended to have this Jeep another 14 years.

I wanted to get the WeatherTechfloormats, but I am hearing they emit an odor. More than the new rubber smell which fades.

However, when I was working on the car yesterday I had the car running with the heat blowing and my face was less than a foot from the floor. I was doing electrical work (mods) and using a butane soldering iron.

Now and then I could smell the mats, but I attributed it to lots of heat and my sniffer being so close. Haven't had any comments from passengers. Went to see Yogi Bear (good movie) with my buddy and his son.

These Leathernecks put the Husky Liners to shame. I haven't noticed any odor here and I have has them in the car for a little over a year.

Hm, I have started to notice an odor in the car recently. I never thought about it being the mats, but it does spend most of it's time sitting in the garage these days.

I just got some WT mats and notice the new smell when getting in, but it fades quickly. You could argue this is a little of a Coke vs Pepsi sort of argument, and you’d be right in the way that most people wouldn’t notice a difference.

Man, some surprisingly strong opinions and diehard loyalists start to come out of the woodwork with some serious passion considering we’re talking about something as benign as a floor mat. The Weathered Digitalis mats are made from a surprisingly rigid thermoplastic, while Husky’s floor mats can be had as a tough rubberized thermoplastic with the WeatherBeaters or a more pliable elastomeric rubber with the X-act contours.

A common reaction to picking up a set of Digitalis floor mats that I’ve seen is that people are expecting to grab a flexible rubber, but are instead surprised by the stiff plastic construction. In those magazine ads I’ve been seeing since time immemorial, they just always looked rubbery to me (and they do offer rubber floor mats as well).

Husky’s X-act contour floor liners offer a similar custom fit (including the measurements with freaking’ laser beams), similar high edges to hold in dirt and spills, and stay put with those pokey cleats on the bottom and also tie into those factory retention posts. But then Husky also makes the rigid thermoplastic WeatherBeater floor mats as well, similar to the solid structure of the WeatherTechfloormats but with a rubberized surface for traction.

But truth be told, keeping your car’s interior clean is no small feat. It can trap mud, sand, water, and road salt, and make it easy to keep your car clean.

Their non-skid backing ensures they stay in place and reduces the spread of dirt. They don’t fit perfectly in bigger vehicles and only cover a small surface area.

They have defined lines along the edges you can use as a guide to trim them if they are too big for your car. Their heavy-duty ridges and divots get rid of snow, mud, and sand from your shoes and contain it in the mats.

The mats are built to withstand the constant movement of both the driver and passenger and are made using a heavy-duty, rubber-like compound. They allow the mats to easily catch dirt, debris, and other undesirable elements you wouldn’t want on your car’s carpet.

But despite performing well in snowy and muddy conditions, they are not designed to withstand a lot of snow and mud. You will also have to get rear mats as they aren’t provided, spending more money in the process.

The mats are designed to superbly match your car’s contours and can withstand abuse like no other floor mats. They also don’t cover the entire foot well on the passenger side.

They are designed to prevent any spillage from spreading to your car’s carpet. The floor mats feature different patterns to quickly trap debris, dirt, and spills.

The front ones are long enough and cover the entire foot well while the back ones fit under the seats and protect the carpet. The anti-slip nib backing on the underside makes sure the mats stay in place.

These car mats will be sure to please Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango owners. With almost the same ridge patterns as the Husky Liner mats that are designed for Ford Escape and C-Max, they will perfectly fit your car.

Their material is tough and holds all manner of dirt and spills in place for easy cleanup. The mats have Format edges that are raised to ensure your car’s carpet stays clean no matter the weather.

Start cleats on the underside hold the mats in place, allowing them to withstand constant movement. They are easy to install and perfectly match the contours of your car.

When you get the best all-weather floor mats, it becomes easy to keep your car’s interior clean and maintain high standards of hygiene. In this section, we discuss all the features to look for when buying all-weather floor mats and also answer your most important questions.

Every time you get inside your car, you are bound to track in dust, dirt, mud, or snow. Although the amounts may seem negligible, they may accumulate and eventually have adverse effects on you or your car.

An unprotected car carpet is a breeding ground for germs and possible allergens. The mats come in handy if you have kids or pets who can easily track in dirt and debris on your vehicle’s floors.

They are affordable and come in a variety of colors, styles, and designs. Floor mats have one key purpose: to protect a car’s floor from dirt and wear.

All-weather floor mats go the extra mile and provide the same protection throughout all seasons. If you want to give your vehicle’s floor ultimate protection against all the weather elements, get rubber floor mats.

They are designed to endure constant foot traffic for a long time. Rubber floor mats are highly durable and have the highest level of water resistance.

If you buy a set, and they turn out to be too big, you can trim them during installation. These floor mats are made out of synthetic fiber and provide cushioning under your feet.

They offer great performance in windy or sunny weather. However, they can’t withstand snow and rain, as they have subpar water resistance.

One of the biggest downsides of fabric floor mats is you have to use special cleaning agents to get rid of tough stains such as oil and coffee. You may also have to add liners on top of them to boost their water resistance.

Vinyl car mats are clear and allow the carpet to show through. They offer enhanced protection for your car's carpet and easily trap debris, dirt, snow, and water.

Their upturned edges ensure that no water, dust, or grime gets out. Most have a custom fit and feature different patterns for cars, trucks, vans, and SUVs.

Grippers on their undersides secure them in place and their textured surfaces are resistant to skids and slips. To clean this car floor mats, simply hose them off or shake them.

These intricate patterns are responsible for keeping dirt and water in one area for easy cleanup. The areas between the ridges break down muddy chunks and contain the fine dust, so you can have an easier time when cleaning.

Some premium car floor mats even have channels that push liquids towards the back, where there is a lower possibility of them coming into contact with the feet or clothes of the driver or passengers. They also create an excellent barrier against water and other elements that can make the car floor damp.

The best all-weather rubber and vinyl floor mats have undergone rigorous testing and adhere to high standards of safety and excellence. While these features may be easy to overlook, they improve the overall comfort as they reduce movement under your feet.

You won’t have to keep readjusting the floor mats every time they slide. Some car floor mats also enhance your comfort when it rains or snows by pushing water to the back.

If you choose a small car floor mats, they won’t cover the foot wells adequately. Some dirt and spills may land right on your car’s carpet, which is the last thing you want.

If you want the inexpensiveness of carpet and the toughness of rubber, get vinyl car mats. If you want to buy mats that fit, get those that are specifically designed for your car model.

If the rubber mats are too stiff to fit in a certain spot, yet they have been designed for your car, you can try placing them near a heat source to improve their flexibility. Air out all new floor mats to get rid of any unpleasant odors.

Clean car floor mats frequently by hosing them off with water and letting them dry. This section covers the most commonly asked questions and their answers.
