We made a list of some of our most commonly asked questions for your convenience. Keep reading to learn how Prime Delivery works for you and your busy schedule.

To find out if you live in an eligible area, enter your ZIP code here. Prime members in eligible areas have over 1 million items to choose from.

With Prime Now, you can get tens of thousands of daily essentials and groceries delivered in 1 to 2 hours when you order on prime now. With Same-Day, choose from over 1 million items across the site and get free delivery by the evening on eligible orders totaling $35 or more.

If you live in an area with Prime Same-Day Delivery, you may have wondered: To ensure we can get packages to you the very same day, the Same-Day Delivery option is typically available in the morning, before noon.

To find more eligible items to get to $35, you can either search on the site and use the FREE Same-Day or FREE One-Day filter, or visit the Same-Day and One-Day page to find a selection of items that are eligible. And because his asthma makes the coronavirus pandemic especially dangerous for him, he didn’t want to mix with the crowds at a supermarket. He ended up going to a market after all, gobsmacked by the unavailability of systems that have become so ingrained in everyday life.

Amazon .com Inc. and other major retailers have spent years teaching Americans to order online and expect same-day or one-day deliveries. Now that the coronavirus outbreak has pushed people nationwide into their homes and away from crowds, online orders have surged, and the companies can’t keep up.

Deliveries from Walmart.com, Target.com and other retailers also have slowed, and some customers are being mistakenly told that orders are being filled when in fact products are out of stock. Amazon also said this week that it’s prioritizing shipments of medical supplies, household staples and other products that are in high demand due to the pandemic.

“The whole supply chain in the country is being pushed to the limit because no one was expecting such an explosion of demand in the first quarter, because it never happens,” Kaziukenas said. Harrison Bryant, 23, a nanny in Riverside, said she placed an order for cold medicine, household cleaners and food on Target.com to be picked up at her local Target store the next day.

A note on Target’s website said that the chain was “working to fulfill online orders and staffing up services” but that “due to high demand, we are facing delays.” “We are seeing a significant increase in demand, which means our labor needs are unprecedented for this time of year,” Amazon said in a blog post.

“Getting a priority item to your doorstep is vital as communities practice social distancing, particularly for the elderly and others with underlying health issues.” “It doesn’t mean consumers won’t be frustrated by the delays, but I think there’s a general recognition that the supply chain is strained and will impact delivery times,” Lips man said.

Walmart also has seen a surge in grocery orders because people are stuck at home or reluctant to visit physical stores, including supermarket chains that have cut back their hours to restock and disinfect. Walmart has more than 4,000 supercenters and neighborhood markets in the United States, and orders can be picked up at the stores or delivered.

Amazon has been experimenting with unique delivery options to fit its customers’ every need and want, especially in the past several years. Check back, as we’ll likely be updating it as Amazon inevitably rolls out more ways to have packages delivered, including (eventually) its drone- delivery service, Prime Air.

Free Two-Day Delivery is the cornerstone guarantee of Amazon Prime. When you subscribe to Prime, eligible orders arrive within two days of shipping.

Addresses in Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico get free standard (3- to 7-business day) shipping. Cutoff times will vary by ZIP code.

When you place your order, free One-Day delivery will show up as an option if it’s available in your area. You can filter searches by items available for the One-Day Prime delivery.

When you place your order, free Same-Day delivery will show up as an option if it’s available in your residential area. You can filter your searches by items available for Same-Day Prime delivery.

Free with Prime membership on qualifying orders over $35. Same-Day shipping for Prime Members under $35 is $5.99 per order and non-Prime customers pay up to $9.98 per item.

Prime Now is meant for quick delivery via local courier for essentials (medicine, diapers, groceries, cooking pans, some electronics). Enter your ZIP code on the Prime Now site to see if it’s available in your area, along with delivery hours.

When you place your order, choose between the two-hour (free) or one-hour (for a fee) delivery. Enter your ZIP code on the Prime Now site to see if it covers your area.

For the one-hour delivery, you’ll pay a fee based on order size. Prime Pantry is meant for those who want to order non-perishable groceries, cleaning supplies and other household essentials and have them delivered regularly (and cut delivery costs).

Shop Prime Pantry’s exclusive assortment of low-priced items and set up orders to be delivered in one to four business days. Prime Pantry used to require a subscription, but that recently changed.

Shop for groceries on the Amazon Fresh site, and schedule a delivery as early as the same day or next morning. Most groceries, including fresh produce and meat.

Amazon Fresh is free for Prime members, for two-hour delivery. Smaller orders will incur a delivery fee (usually $9.99).

Have your order shipped to a secure Amazon locker (available at many convenience stores and Whole Foods locations) and open it with a code. Apartment Locker deliveries work the same way but are delivered to the secure Apartment Locker location within your residence building. You must pick up your package for both services within 3 calendar days of delivery or it will be returned for a refund.

You can even submit returns (for certain packages) via Amazon Lockers. You will need the Amazon Key kit, which includes a smart lock and Cloud Cam, and you’ll also need to enable In-Home Delivery via the Amazon Key app.

When shopping on Amazon, simply choose “In-Home” as your delivery option. No additional costs for Prime members (but Amazon Key kit equipment is needed).

Prime Members with Key for Garage technology and the My Smart Garage Hub can have packages delivered straight into their cars. Prime members park their car in an open, street-level, and publicly accessible area with no restricted entry.

You’ll get notifications as your package makes its way to your car. The In-Car Delivery is only available on certain vehicles with an active connected car service plan.

After completing the initial set-up of the eligible vehicle, it can begin receiving deliveries of qualifying items. In-Car Delivery is offered in many cities and surrounding areas.

You can receive tens of millions of Prime eligible items with In-Car Delivery, which don’t exceed your trunk and cabin dimensions. Free for eligible items and offered exclusively for Prime members in most cities.

This service became available on April 23, 2019, and was announced during the Consumer Electronics Show in Jan. 2019. No additional costs for Prime members (but a Key by Amazon Smart Garage Kit is needed).

How does Amazon Scout Robot Delivery work? This program is still being tested in Snohomish County, Washington and Irvine, California areas only.

Those who order in the test areas may have their packages delivered via an autonomous robot (currently still being accompanied by humans). You’ll receive a text when the robot arrives and can retrieve your package from it.

Amazon Scout robots (six total) are currently making test deliveries in Snohomish County, Washington and Irvine, California, Monday – Friday, during daylight hours. No details yet whether Scout deliveries will be exclusively for Prime members.

Shop via the Subscribe and Save Store page to find and choose everyday necessities, such as dog food, baby formula, contact lens solution, diapers and cleaning products. By using Subscribe and Save, you’ll get free shipping on every order.

With auto-deliveries, you’ll also save up to 15% off the regular cost of the items you order if you receive five or more products in a single month. Prime members get extra savings (20% off) on diapers, baby food and more.

Options include select grocery items, wipes and diapers, pet supplies, vitamins, household cleaners, beauty products and more. Pre-order eligible items, such as books, video games and movies, and receive them on their release date.

Prime members get free Release-Date Delivery if they select Two-Day Shipping at checkout. Perhaps the most-anticipated Amazon delivery option, Prime Air doesn’t yet exist for customers and is being tested in development centers around the world.

Once it launches, drones will deliver packages of up to five pounds to customers in 30 minutes or less. Announced in Feb. 2019, this delivery option allows shoppers to select a designated delivery day for which all orders placed throughout the week will arrive.

This helps shoppers know when to expect deliveries (and, say, coordinate them to arrive on a day they’ll be home) and cut down on waste (because Amazon Day Delivery orders can be grouped to arrive in fewer boxes). Most items that are eligible for Prime Delivery and shipped by Amazon.

A one-time password verification at the time of delivery adds a layer of security to your packages. Amazon will send a one-time password to your registered email address when the package is out for delivery.

Enter the password you’ve received into the driver’s device. Once the password verification is done, the driver will hand the package over to you.

Amazon announced the option on June 27, 2019, and expanded it later in the year. Consumers can opt to pick up their packages at local retail partners (during their business hours) nearest to the address convenient for them.

You’ll receive an e-mail alert when your order is ready with a unique barcode. Most items fulfilled by Amazon can be picked up via Counter.

If available, Saturday or Sunday delivery will be specified on the product page or during checkout. Most items that are eligible for Prime Delivery and shipped by Amazon.

Amazon Prime members can select No-Rush Shipping and receive an immediate order discount or promotional rewards to use towards a future purchase. When you select No-Rush Shipping, you are allowing your order to be delivered within six business days, rather than opting for Prime’s usually speedy delivery.
